Cutting boards are made from tight-grained timbers, which prevent food solids from lodging in the surface of your board.
When properly maintained, wooden cutting boards can be more sanitary than plastic or other materials. The porous nature of wood absorbs surface bacteria, where it dries out and dies.
These are finished in food grade mineral oil, and appreciate a re-coat every few months depending on usage and cleaning.
