Wood is a natural material that responds to heat, sunlight and moisture- it will experience tone shifts and movement over time. Be mindful of how you clean and store your wooden products.
Hard-wax oil Wipe down with a dry or damp cloth, dry straight away to avoid water marks. Avoid household cleaners. If the surface dulls, reapply a light rubbing of finishing oil, or bring it to me for a refurb :)
Mineral oil Wipe down after each use with a damp cloth, or basin-wash and dry straight away. Avoid too much direct sunlight when storing. Food grade mineral oil should be reapplied when the surface appears dry or dull.
Polyurethane Similar to hardwax oil, but more robust. Wipe down gently and dry quickly. This finish may become warm-toned over time, if left in direct sunlight
